FIRE ALARM MECHANIC

Location: Kodiak, AK
NIKA is hiring for a Fire Alarm Mechanic for a base operations support services contract at the US Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, AK!

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Providing technical services to the USCG Kodiak on Fire Suppression Systems, including the installation and commissioning of new or expanded systems; performing system modifications as necessary; conducting regular testing and inspections of systems; and performing troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
Required Skills
2-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent in a technical field; or possesses 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields
minimum of 3 years computer experience/operation and PLC programming.
Must be able to identify code and non-conformance issues, make recommendations regarding system installations and service/repairs, and have the necessary certifications to perform the tasks independently.
Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
