Location: Tuscon, AZ
NIKA is hiring for an Environmental Control Specialist who will provide facilities operations support services for the Customs Border Protection (CBP) Arizona in Phoenix, AZ!

Responsibilities
Develops and implements safety procedures and policies.
Writes and updates the project location’s Safety Plan.
Investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed.
Coordinates with management, Human Resources, and staff for workers compensation claims.
Develops job safety analyses (JSAs) to support restricted-duty work assignments, claims management, and development of safety and quality standard operating procedures.
Performs safety surveys (e.g., noise surveys, air monitoring, time and motion studies) to support personal protective equipment policies.
Ensures environmental compliance: develops, updates, and implements the following plans: Facility Response Plan (FRP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, Oil and Hazardous Substance Pollution Contingency (OHSPC) Plan, Hazardous Material Management Plan, Toxic Substance Management Plan (Ozone Depleting Substances, Radon, Asbestos, Poly Chlorinated Biphenyl’s) Hazardous Waste Management Plan, Solid Waste Management Plan, Waste Analysis Plan, Air Emissions/Inventory Plan, Federal Agency Pollution Abatement Plan.
Manages PPE program by procurement of proper equipment and employee training.
Develops and implements a system to manage hazardous materials and MSDS in accordance with OSHA Hazard Communication standards.
Develops, implements, and maintains safety programs, including the following: Personnel Safety Education, Medical Surveillance, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Energy Control (Lockout/Tag out), Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing Conservation, Fire Prevention, Accident Investigation and Reporting, Hazard Communication, Electrical Safety, First Aid, Equipment Safety and General Procedures.
Coordinates and executes employee safety training as required.
Monitors environmental compliance programs in accordance with contract requirements.
Inspects work accomplished by staff and subcontractor personnel, to identify any flaws or defects.
Inspects vendor subcontractors’ work at project location to ensure safety and quality compliance.
Coordinates with subcontractor functional managers and supervisors to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of all tasks.
Ensures scheduled and random safety and quality inspections are performed and documented within assigned time constraints.
Knowledge of government contracting terminology and requirements necessary to perform the contractual obligations, including environmental issues relating to personnel safety and contractual requirements.
Knowledge of pertinent safety regulations and requirements necessary to perform the contractual obligations.
Knowledge of environmental issues relating to personnel safety and contractual requirements.
Ability to instruct and prepare training syllabus in a variety of safety subject matter for supervisors and workers.
Position Requirements
Five (5) years of experience in environmental control in support of contracts of similar size and scope.
Must be able to attain and maintain a US Security Clearance.
