NIKA continues to provide construction management, project management and general engineering services for the Department of State’s Overseas Building Operation (OBO).
During this project, NIKA has performed and managed numerous compound security upgrades to the U.S. Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, including:
- the replacement of an existing perimeter fence with a new “anti-ram” and “anti-climb”
Force Protection Enhancement (FPE) perimeter fence - the upgrade of the Main Gate vehicle entrance (through the creations of a mantrap,
sallyport, and new guard house) - the upgrade of the Rear Gate into an emergency-only exit gate.
Additionally, NIKA performed other modernizations to the soft structure, including upgrading the main CAC to meet current standards, upgrading the chancery windows and generator room to meet current forced entry and blast resistant (FE/BR) standards.
NIKA’s staff provided daily project management, quality assurance, and construction management services. Duties included space evaluation programming, concept design, interpretation of contract documents, meetings with design and construction contractors, performing QA testing, reviewing contract payments, change orders and claims analyses, construction administration and resolution of RFIs, negotiation of change orders and project progress reports to the Chief, Office of Facilities.
