Rockville, MD, June 30, 2016/ — NIKA, a global provider of architecture, engineering, facilities and operations and maintenance solutions to government, announced today that Lorenza “Pete” Peterson has joined the firm as the firm’s Director of Program Management, where he will work to optimize the structure, planning, analysis, and performance of client programs and projects. NIKA’s Program Management division supports clients throughout the project lifecycle with project managers, quality assurance managers, and technical managers.
“Pete has an extraordinary level of experience in the execution of successful government project delivery strategies,” said Kabir Chaudhary, President and Chief Executive Officer. “As a former U.S. Army Medical Service Corps Lieutenant Colonel, he has a unique understanding of the complex needs of many of our nation’s most important programs. We are excited to share his experience with our clients as we continue to grow this practice area.”
Since 1991, Peterson has served in numerous operational leadership assignments from Platoon Leader in an Armor Regiment to Department of Army Staff for the U.S. Army Office of The Surgeon General. His overseas deployments and assignments include Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany and Korea. He also successfully served several tours in command leadership positions. Most recently, he worked with a team of professionals responsible for delivering world class medical treatment facilities and research laboratories all across the globe. While doing so, he partnered and coordinated with leadership from various organizations, including Department of the Army, USACE, AFMSA, BUMED, MEDCOM, Major Subordinate Commands, US Army and Air Force Garrisons, as well as private industry.

Peterson has received numerous awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals and many more. He received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) before moving on to earn a master’s degree in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT).
