MD Architecture and Engineering Firm Hired to Support Consumption and Conservation Efforts
Rockville, MD, December 13, 2016 / — NIKA, a global provider of architecture, engineering, facilities and operations and maintenance solutions to government, was recently awarded a $1.099M contract by the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) to provide complex data modeling and analysis in support of MEDCOM’s energy consumption and conservation goals.
Under this contract, NIKA will take a holistic approach to storing, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting MEDCOM’s energy and water data across more than 30 Army medical facilities. The project team will build a comprehensive data warehouse comprising the essential structured and unstructured data sources, and modeling the data as a foundation for a business intelligence layer that will allow for the visualization and manipulation of the data. NIKA will then construct a series of report libraries that allow MEDCOM to analyze the data in ways that garner meaningful and valuable insights about MEDCOM’s energy and water use. Once this foundation is built, the team will determine the validity of the data and provide recommendations that feed into MEDCOM’s energy master planning efforts.
NIKA CEO Kabir Chaudhary remarked, “We are excited to have the opportunity to continue our strong working relationship with MEDCOM and look forward to helping our nation achieve key energy consumption and conservation benchmarks.” He continued, “By eliminating the complexity involved in the current data collection process and moving toward a process that is more automated, we can put a wealth of information at our clients’ fingertips.”
As the prime contractor on this project, NIKA delivers significant relevant expertise evidenced by successful past performance on similar energy management projects for such government agencies as the Air Force Medical Support Agency (AFMSA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
