Maryland Architecture and Engineering Firm Hired to Design $31M Outpatient Clinic
Rockville, MD, October 27, 2016 — NIKA, a global provider of architecture, engineering, facilities and operations and maintenance solutions to government, was recently awarded a $1M contract to design the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) new South Hillsborough Outpatient Clinic in Riverview, Fl. Located at the intersection of US HWY 301 and Summerfield Crossings Blvd., the facility will comprise approximately 50,000 square feet of net usable area and be a prominent anchor within the regional veteran community.
The project, led by Hokanson Companies, Inc. and constructed by Doster Construction Company, will cost approximately $31M and is scheduled for completion in 2018. As the Designer of Record, NIKA will provide schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration services. The overall design concept is rooted in providing an inviting environment for patients, visitors, and staff, while delivering a safe, sustainable and energy efficient building that honors our nation’s military veterans.
